Lady Tsunade? This is Korra. Sakura said I should talk to you.

[A pause.]

You see, I'm trying to rebuild parts of the clinic, but... we sort of need a head healer. The one who was in charge of the place is gone now. Uh, do you think you'd be interested?

Anyway, just...call me back, I guess.

[ Tsunade returns the call within a couple of hours. Her voice sounds slightly drifted in terms of focus, like as if she just woke up. ]

Well, if this is what Haven needs and I can provide it, who am I to refuse? [ they all kind of need each other to break out of the place. ] I'd be interested in running it, but I guess I should see for myself the condition it's in... [ She at least wants a place that's as sterile as Haven can possibly allow. ]

It’s…mostly clean right now, but it’s really small. I’m getting people to help me rebuilt parts of it so we have more room.

So, you’ll do it? Sakura said you had some experience running places like this before.

I can help with building things too. I can at least do the heavy lifting and then some. [ Times like this makes her wish she had her grandfather's legendary wood style jutsu. Instant rooms in a blink of an eye! ]

Yea. Since it's needed, I'll definitely commit to it. I would heal anyone here on the basis that we need all of the help we can get, so I can see the merit into making it an "official" place of sorts.

Great! [Korra sounds relieved that someone’s willing to take the post.] I’ve already started changing a few things around the clinic.

I think I’ve already got pictures of everyone else to put up on the wall—kind of like a roster of doctors and healers so people know who to look for on the phones if they need help.

I'm sure those changes were for the best. What've you been doing for it? [ anyone that cares enough to maintain a clinic can't exactly be doing everything, if anything, wrong. ]

That should be very helpful. Like an emergency flyer of sorts, or as close as we can get to one here anyways.

It was sort of small before, but that's because it's hard to find supplies around here. I'm trying to add another room to it, so more people can stay there if they're hurt.

And...maybe add a healing pool in there. Or two.

Hmm... if that's the case, I could summon my slugs to act as make-shift beds for others. They're quire comfortable for other people and they're definitely subservient for the sake of medicine. Their bedside manner might even be better than my own... [ but Tsunade is the world's Biggest Grump... ]

I'm not sure what a healing pool is but perhaps we can combine our efforts. I can channel my chakra towards others to amplify their attacks. I've used the seal a bit too much, but I think I can muster the energy to help you with this.

Slugs? [She…isn’t sure what the means but maybe she can ask for a demonstration later.]

A healing pool’s just something that makes it easier for healers like me back home. We use water to heal—usually we just focus on the injury directly, but if there’s too many injuries or if the wounds are internal, it’s easier to just put the person in a pool of water so we can check everything at the same time.

Katsuyu is my slug summon. She is quite comfortable with others and is used to transporting the injured on her back very carefully. She's been my ally for decades, we have a close bond. I can heal through her as a medium by giving her my chakra.

[ In fact, Tsunade's power is directly tied to Katsuyu's strength. Their connection with each other went a little beyond most summon-master relations. ]

Hmm... it sounds like this one jutsu we have. We normally just focus chakra on the afflicted area, but if you're skilled enough to can flow the chakra to less accessible places. We're able to heal internal injuries. However, this one jutsu, using a person's bodily medium like hair or blood, heals through that medium. It's a technique that requires extreme precision and calculations based on the medium you're using, as if you apply the wrong amount of concentration through a certain medium you could end up putting the patient in a coma. [ This was a risk that came with all healing. Still, Tsunade loved talking about medicine and healing arts. She wants to learn all she can for more jutsus later. ]

You're right...it does sound pretty close, I think. We can sense the energy paths in someone's body through the water, and we help send the energy where it needs to go.

[Korra's not as great at explaining the theory behind healing like her Sifu is, but she can at least get the basics across.]
